שגיון לדוד אשר שר ליהוה

Shiggayon l'David asher shar l'Adonay
a wild passionate song of David, that he sang to Yahweh

Unsovereign, Basil Doulos!
Your only tax, benevolence;
and jurisprudence, mercy.

Chthon of Heaven and its Ilios!
No fans cool you
for you are the breeze.
Fires cannot warm
the ignition of the cosmos.

Imprinted Logos of all creation!
Revealed, thrice-linked rings of Borromeo.
Uncovered, protogenoi of substance.
Proclaimed, mysteries of antiquity.
Exposed, mover unmoved.
Annunciation of life bearing the promise of the coming age.
Clarion of Zion awaking the dawn of the eighth day!
Holy, Holy, cry Holy!

Shatter us with a leap from the heart of man
Grant the grace of light to our eyes
Burn us with the beauty of your face
Draw back your completeness from us
That we might glimpse of your greatness
Though it pains us in our weakness

There is none righteous, no, not one
By your sacrifice, I have come to die.
There is none who understands
By your will, illumine me.
There is none who seeks after God.
By your power, draw my feet along the road which goes ever on.

Saints and apostles, martyrs and prophets,
Great fathers gone before us to rest
And our most beloved light-bearing mother
We who are empty cry at the gates of fullness
Burst open the walls of kingdom by grace offensive
Let the least of these enter and be entered in.

Amen.

Another Psalm, by David Dickens, at Nothing Hypothetical
